Queequeg's Circus, a failing travelling show, arrives in the small rural English town of Gwynn Gallows, for the Bank Holiday weekend, promising clowns and tumblers, acrobats and fire-eaters. But the local townsfolk have plenty to offer of their own, including drunk-drivers, scheming broken families, white supremacist skinheads and a wood-dwelling witch with a centuries-old grudge. Drawing on a long tradition of British horror-drama, from A Cantenbury Tale to The Wicker Man, Circuside is both laugh-out-loud funny and intensely sinister.
Circuside, written and illustrated by Grayham Puttock, is a six-part series, of which three bumper-sized volumes are currently available.
THIS IS CIRCUSIDE.
QUEEQUEG'S CIRCUS IS IN TOWN FOR THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND, WITH ACROBATS AND CLOWNS, TUMBLERS AND FREAKS, BUT NOT EVERYONE IN THE RURAL ENGLISH TOWN IS HAPPY TO WELCOME THE TRAVELLING FOLK, AND PREJUDICES AND LONG-BURIED SECRETS ARE BEING DRAGGED TO THE SURFACE OF GWYNN GALLOWS.
CIRCUSIDE IS A 44-PAGE, LARGE-FORMAT COMICBOOK, FILLED WITH HORROR AND DRAMA, COAL-BLACK HUMOUR AND GORGEOUS, HIGHLY-DETAILED BLACK AND WHITE ARTWORK.
